Sven
Palmqvist

From 1927 Sven Palmqvist studied at Orrefors etching school,
followed by studies at the Technical high school and The Academy
of Arts in Stockholm. In 1936 he was employed as an artistic
co-worker at Orrefors but along side continued his sculpting
studies in Paris. His most innovative and significant period
was during the 1940´s and 1950´s when experimenting
with new techniques such as the Kraka family. Sven Palmqvist
is undoubtedly among the most versatile and artistically most
significant artists of contemporary glass.
