Vicke
Lindstrand

Victor Emmanuel (Vicke) Lindstrand (1904 - 1983) was among
the first glass masters to work within the Modernist idiom.
He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Gothenburg,
Sweden. He started his career at Orrefors where he continued
to work until 1941. From 1950 through the 1970's, Lindstrand
ran his own studio and was also the design director of Kosta
Boda glassworks, where most of his well known pieces took
shape. Despite a mastery of all facets of glass blowing and
designing, it is his organic-form glassware that exemplified
the “New Look” of Scandinavian design during the
postwar years. He is regarded worldwide as one of the most
important glass designers of the 20th century.
