John
Andersson

At the early age of thirteen John Andersson (1899-1969) started
his career at A&J (Andersson and Johnsson) present Höganäs.
In 1924 he became A&J´s artistic leader, he had
the ability to understand public demands. The success of Old
Höganäs, which was introduced during the exhibition
H55 in Helsingborg Sweden, was not a coincidence. Since stoneware
was quite an expensive material he initiated the production
of miniatures. They where designed by John and thrown on piecework,
a very effective way to slim the production. John Andersson
remained at A&J until his death in 1969.
